Yuanji is made up of the 2 Chinese characters “Yuan”, and “Ji”.           .

Following is the definition of each character.

“Yuan” - definition is “original”, “fundamental”

Yuan represents the primordial substance of the universe; a kind of fundamental material that existed before the universe was created.  It still exists.  It is far smaller than the smallest particle/quark as modern science has known, as yet unperceived by modern scientific technology.  It is not part of our physical plane as described by modern science, it is still unknown and forever unknown to modern science according to uncertainty law of quantum physics. Eastern knowledge is built upon the Yuan/Tao/Buddha nature/Ren/Chi /even spirits(Which is called prenatal --before the birth of universe ) by seeing/observing our body internally in the meditating stage to understanding universe movement (we will study how to do this later) .  Western science is built upon the Material, molecular, atom, nuclei-electron, particles, quarks… (Which is called postnatal –after the birth of universe) by seeing /observing the world out of our body through instruments to research the relationships of objections. The combination of western science and eastern knowledge will make a whole picture of universe.

      Conclusion:

Substance with no shape (inner and /or outer boundaries) and image but it really exists.

We call it “Wu” or Prenatal.

Substance with shape (inner and/or outer boundaries) and image.

We call it “You” or postnatal

.

The substance “Yuan” can be divided into 3 states, or 3 components or 3 elements.  They are known as

                1) Element Qi

                2) Element Light

                3) Element Sound (information code)

“Ji” represents the laws of movement, the laws of motion.

There are 3 laws or 3 Ji which correspond with the 3 elements of “Yuan”

1) Wuji - The laws of movement as relating to the Element Sound

2) Huangji. - The laws of movement as relating to the Element Light

3) Taiji - The laws of movement as relating to the Element Qi

What is this “movement”, this “motion”? It is more subtle and smaller than particles.  Particles still relate to the physical side.  These movements come before the physical.  When you study the Element Sound, you apply the corresponding law of motion to describe this kind of movement.

For example, let us compare “ji” to the concept of “temperature”.  Temperature determines the state of water and can produce 3 states.

   1) Below 0 degrees celsius = ice

   2) 0 - 100 degrees celsius = liquid

   3) over 100 degrees celsius = steam/vapor

In this analogy, the “ji” - the 3 laws of motion - are the temperature and the “yuan” - the 3 elements - are the water.  It is the movement laws in Yuanji which determine which state or level is present (i.e. Wuji level, Huangji level or Taiji level).

At the Huangji level, Yuan appears as “light”.  At the Taiji level, Yuan appears as “qi”.  At the Wuji level, Yuan is at the sound state (also known as the “tone” state or “information code” state).  All 3 levels (Huangji, Taiji, Wuji) contain all 3 elements.

The Yuanji masters have conveyed all this information into a diagram, which represents the entire Yuanji theory. (See Fig. 1 below)

The 3 elements and their corresponding 3 laws of movement

ELEMENT QI / TAIJI LEVEL

There are 5 kinds of Element Qi represented by colors and their corresponding organs:

1) Green - Liver, Gall Bladder

2) Red - Heart, Small Intestine

3) Yellow - Spleen, Stomach

4) White - Lungs, Large Intestine

5) Black - Kidney, Urinary Bladder

They are manifestations of element Qi in different organs.  When Qi is in these organs they show their corresponding colors.  These 5 element Qis with their corresponding internal organs can be illustrated in the Yuanji diagram (see Fig. 2 below)

Qi is in balance, in a harmonious state, the yuanji diagram is formed within the body.  If one’s internal organs are not in balance, the yuanji diagram cannot be formed.  Not in balance means some organ may have too much Qi and another have too little.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, when the Qi is strong within an organ, it corresponds to an image of animal and you can sense that animal within your body.  The following lists the animals associated with each of the five colors:

Green - dragon

Red - Redbird

Yellow - Phoenix

White - Tiger

Black - Turtle/Snake

ELEMENT LIGHT / HUANJI LEVEL

There are 5 stages of the Element Light.

1) Tiny Light - This is infra-red-alike light.  Everyone has it.  It is one’s body heat and/or energy field. No meditation is necessary to acquire this stage.

2) Unfocused Light - many energy practitioners have this light.  It is quite high-level.  It shows itself as white steam on their skin.  Their energy field is stronger than a non-practitioner’s.

3) Focused Light - This is also known as Golden Light.  Only Yuanji practitioners and high-level Zen practitioners can attain this kind of light.  It manifests itself as a beam/thread from one’s finger or from the top of one’s head.

4) Wisdom Light – It is the energy that has intelligence and has all the information.  It has the ability to be within and without the body, yet still be controlled by the mind/heart of the practitioner.  For example, it knows which cells are bad and which cells are good.  It will decrease the growth of bad cells and increase the growth of good cells.  It will increase low blood pressure and decrease high blood pressure.

5) Nature Light / Buddha Light - This light is highly knowledgeable, much higher than Wisdom Light.  It has both wisdom and utlimate knowledge.

ELEMENT SOUND / WUJI LEVEL

This is challenging to define because the Element Sound is not something that can be heard.  It is more like an information code.  For example, the Yuanji Master can communicate with a foreigner who does not speak or understand Chinese by placing his finger in the ear of the foreigners’ head and the foreigner will then understand what the master is trying to communicate to him/her.  All this is done without the use of words and/or translators.  This is done via use of the Element Sound.  Only very high level practitioners (Masters) can do this.

The basic sounds are the ten sounds of the mantra.

The mantra can generate everything.  The mantra is the universe itself.  Everything is from the mantra.

THE LAWS OF MOVEMENT FOR WUJI, TAIJI AND HUANGJI

This describes the individual laws of movement (Wuji, Taiji, and Huangji) and their inter-relationships resulting in the process of energy evolution.

We start with Wuji, the law of movement as relating to the Element Sound.  It is found within the Yuanji Mantra.  Through the Yuanji Mantra, the Element Sound is created.  Once it is created, it then generates the Element Qi.  Once Qi is strong and in balance, the Taiji law of movement comes into play, where the essences of yin and yang are transformed into the Element Light.  The Element Light then goes through its evolution of 5 stages (from Infra-Red to Buddha Light).  When it reaches the 5th Stage, Buddha Light, it has attained all the information and ultimate knowledge.   It then, through it’s Huangji law of movement, returns to Wuji and forms the next generation of the Yuanji diagram.  This process is then repeated ad infinitum.

This process is similar to a seed which sprouts, grows and blossoms, then creates another seed, etc; the cycle of Life.

This Yuanji process is the cycle or process of energy evolution.  Above is a diagram showing this process (Fig. 3), and below is  the Yuanji diagram with its regenerations (Fig. 4):

It is important to note that the step which transforms the essence of Yin/Yang Qi into Light (the yellow Huangji circle) is unique to Yuanji.  No other schools of practice exist with this yellow circle within the Taiji diagram.  This creation of the yellow Huangji circle answers the more than 2000 year old mystery of the Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu’s theory stating that “One generates Two, Two generates Three, Three generates Everything (the myriad of things)” Previous explanations of the first step had been understood.  “One generates Two” refers to the Wuji black circle generating the Yin and Yang diagram.  The remaining two statements remained a mystery until Yuanji came into existence. “Two generates Three” means that the essences of Yin/Yang Qi are transformed into the third part of the Taiji diagram, which is the yellow Huangji circle. “Three generates Everything” means that the third step in this process is the Huangji circle returning to Wuji and creating the next generation of the Taiji (Yuanji) diagram for infinity.   Because the Huangji circle contains the evolution of light up to the Buddha state, it has ALL the information for Everything (the myriad of things) and can thus return to the initial Wuji phase.

I have described the laws of movement as a sequential process.  In actuality these laws co-exist beyond space and time in all dimensions that you can possibly imagine.  There is no space or time limit.  It is eternal and they do not exclude each other.

In addition to Wuji generating Taiji, Taiji being transformed into Huangji and Huangji returning to Wuji (Tone ==> Qi ==> Light ==> returning back to Tone, ad infinitum....), each of the 3 elements can also self-generate.  In other words Wuji can generate Tone, Taiji can generate Qi, and Huangji can generate Light.  This is called the self-generating law.

Following are the 3 movement laws and their 3 self-generating laws:

Movement Laws: Wuji generates Taiji

               Taiji is transformed into Huangji

Huangji returns to Wuji (and creates the next generation of the   Yuanji  diagram)

The acronym “GTR” will be used hereafter to refer to these 3 movement laws.  The “G” stands for “Generate”, the “T” stands for “is transformed into” and the “R” stands for “Returns”.  Since these 3 elements can mutually transform their forms, these 3 movement laws will be called “Mutual-GTR”.

Self-generating Laws: Wuji generates Tone

                      Taiji generates Qi

                      Huangji generates Light

This will be called hereafter “Self-GTR”.

Examples of Self-GTR:

In order to get more “tone”, one has to go to the Wuji level to generate tone (by saying the mantra).

In order to get more “Qi”, one needs to go to the Taiji level to generate Qi. (by chanting the Yuanji meditation formula)

In order to get more “Light”, one needs to go the Huangji level to generate “Light” (by sitting and staring at the sun and/or the moon)

Everything that we have written about thus far can be found within our bodies.  Through the practice of the Yuanji system and its’ theories, everyone is capable of realizing this process of energy evolution.  This is not only theory but can actually be felt and seen within our bodies.  It has practical applications.  The Yuanji system states that if it cannot be found within our bodies, it is useless and a waste of time.
